RAISING A DAD – 26 July 2013

The doctor has seen us now

We had our first appointment with our GP this morning. It’s 8 weeks and all seems to be well.

We’re statistically still in the woods but every week moves us closer to feeling more secure and with that my excitement is building.

We should get a date for a scan soon. The scan seems really important to me.

Maybe because it’s the first time you see your new baby.

Maybe because it signifies 12 weeks and out of the tricky first trimester.

Maybe because it means you can then officially put it on Facebook.

Whatever the reason (or more probably reasons) I can wait…no really – I don’t want to wait.

As we left the surgery this morning I said “I really don’t like waiting for stuff”.

My ever-patient wife sighed, put her arm around my shoulder and suggested it could be a long 7 months ahead for me.
